Coated Metal Drip Angle Butt Joint
Coated metal drip angles provide an aesthetically pleasing watertight drip detail to a single ply roof. Installing adjacent sections of coated metal drip angles requires a 5mm gap to be left between adjoining panels. The video demonstrates how to waterproof the join between the butt jointed sections.
Video Transcript
Mechanically fasten the pre-fabricated metal sections, leaving a 5mm gap between the adjoining panel.
Cut aluminium foil tape to the required length and adhere over the butt joint between the two coated metal sections.
Measure the coated metal angle and cut a section of Monarplan PVC single ply roofing membrane of the corresponding length.
Round off the corners and spot weld in position.
Using the 20mm nozzle, complete the pre-weld before continuing to weld all edges to the coated metal angle.
